From Las Vegas nightlife to a life of Zen
The story of Cory & Chrisy McCormack — and how a simple ritual with spring water became Liquid Zen.

For almost two decades, Cory McCormack built his career in the heart of Las Vegas hospitality, nightlife, and entertainment, helping shape the city's culture during one of its most transformative eras. It was an exciting life — and Cory lived it fully.
A lifelong athlete, Cory had always understood the importance of fitness, but working in the nightlife industry also meant years surrounded by partying, alcohol, and everything that came with that lifestyle.
In December 2013, Cory made a decision that would ultimately change the trajectory of his life: he stopped drinking alcohol. That decision marked the beginning of a much deeper personal transformation. What started as a commitment to his own health evolved into a growing passion for wellness, nutrition, fitness, longevity, and a more conscious approach to life.
Several years later, Cory met Chrisy — the woman who would become his wife and change the course of his life in ways he could never have imagined. Together, they began building a life rooted in love, partnership, and a shared curiosity about the world around them.
Las Vegas — where it began
When the world slowed down.
When Cory and Chrisy went through the pandemic together, their journey took on a deeper meaning. As much of the world slowed down and life took on a different perspective, they began exploring a deeper spiritual path together — one rooted in consciousness, intention, frequency, energy, ancient wisdom, and the connection between mind, body, and spirit.
During that time, Chrisy became seriously ill with COVID-19. In the years that followed, she continued to struggle with persistent health challenges associated with long COVID. Watching his wife navigate those challenges deepened Cory's desire to understand health and wellness on another level.
When they left Las Vegas and moved to Arizona, Chrisy was still struggling significantly with the lingering effects of her illness. They found a home overlooking a small lake — a peaceful place that became something of a sanctuary for her. For a while, she began doing better. But over the years that followed, her health would ebb and flow, and through it all, Cory kept searching for ways to help his wife regain her health and get back to the life they once knew.
That search took him deeper into health, wellness, nutrition, longevity, and holistic living. In his continued effort to better understand the body and support his wife's journey, Cory furthered his education and eventually became a Certified Holistic Health Practitioner. It was during this chapter of their life in Arizona that water would take on an entirely new meaning.
Four seasons at Harding Spring
Every six to eight weeks, Cory and Chrisy made the journey together — 20 five-gallon jugs, roughly 100 gallons of fresh spring water — through the heat of summer, the colors of fall, the snow of winter, and the renewal of spring.
He became a "water snob."
Not long after arriving, someone told Cory and Chrisy about Harding Spring, tucked away in the mountains north of Sedona. Curious, they made the drive. They filled their jugs with fresh spring water and brought it home. And then they went back.
Cory jokes that this was when he became a "water snob." But it was also when he began looking at water differently. Water was no longer simply something to drink. It was something to appreciate, to understand — and something he wanted to learn more about.
His fascination soon went far beyond what was in his glass. He began studying the deeper nature of water and the work of researchers, thinkers, and pioneers who had spent their lives asking questions about one of the most abundant — and still mysterious — substances on Earth. He became fascinated with cymatics and the visual patterns created when sound and vibration meet matter, from the pioneering experiments of Ernst Chladni to the ideas of Viktor Schauberger and the work of Dr. Masaru Emoto. The documentary The Secret of Water became another source of inspiration.
The deeper Cory went, the more fascinated he became by the intersection of water, sound, frequency, vibration, intention, and sacred geometry. What began with two people driving into the mountains to collect spring water was becoming something much bigger. It was becoming a vision.
Around this time, Cory began noticing the rise of canned water. He loved the movement away from single-use plastic and toward infinitely recyclable aluminum. But when he encountered a brand built around the idea of "death," something struck him the wrong way. There was already enough death in the world. Why did we need it in our water? Cory imagined the opposite.
Cory and Chrisy began creating the brand together — the name, the concept, the look and feel, the packaging, and the philosophy. Chrisy played an integral role in shaping the visual identity of the can and helped inspire one of the most important elements of the brand: 528 Hz — a frequency that would become a signature part of the Liquid Zen philosophy.
For several years, however, Liquid Zen remained a dream waiting for its moment. Then Cory reached a crossroads. After years as an entrepreneur, he found himself selling solar over the phone — a job that left him deeply unfulfilled. One day, he quit. He went home to Chrisy and told her, in the way only a lifelong entrepreneur could:
Chrisy believed in him. More importantly, she gave him the freedom and support to believe in himself. So Cory went all in. What followed was anything but a straight line. He had to learn an entirely new industry from the ground up — water sourcing, aluminum packaging, co-packing, production, logistics, supply chains, distribution. There were early production runs in Colorado. There were setbacks. There were mistakes. There were moments when the entire process had to be rebuilt from the ground up. But Cory kept going.
Building the dream
Back to the source.
Along the way, Rana Prasad entered the story. What began as an investment and business partnership evolved into something much more. Rana became Cory's operating partner and friend — and would ultimately become Co-Founder of Liquid Zen.
As the company searched for a new path forward, Rana found Palomar Mountain Spring in San Diego County, California — a natural spring water source that aligned with Cory's original vision for what Liquid Zen was always meant to be. It became a turning point for the company.
In many ways, the journey had come full circle. What began with Cory and Chrisy driving into the mountains to collect spring water together had, after years of trial, setbacks, and perseverance, found its way back to the source: natural spring water from the mountains. Together, Cory and Rana began building the next chapter — combining the original vision Cory and Chrisy had created with a renewed foundation for bringing it to the world.
Then, just as that vision was becoming real, Cory experienced an unimaginable loss. Chrisy tragically passed away. She never got to see Liquid Zen fully launched.
She is in the design she helped create.
She is in the 528 Hz frequency woven into the brand's story.
She is in the photographs from Harding Spring, and the countless miles they traveled together — filling those five-gallon jugs, season after season.
She is in the spiritual journey they shared and the questions they explored together.
And she is in the belief that something as simple and essential as water could carry a more positive message into the world.
Something far more personal.
What began as an entrepreneurial dream has become something far more personal. Today, Cory is launching Liquid Zen in honor of the wife who believed in the dream before there was a company, before there was a product, and before anyone else could see what it might become.
Liquid Zen is the culmination of that journey — from the nightlife of Las Vegas to a life of health and wellness; from the springs of Arizona to a fascination with water, frequency, and vibration; from years of perseverance and reinvention to a shared vision between a husband and wife.
It is a company built around a simple idea: that the water we drink can represent something more.
